2014: RECAP

Hi everyone!

I can't believe it! IT'S THE LAST DAY OF 2014! The year has just flown by...I can't believe it! Here is a recap of all the things I have done that really mean something to me this year:

  1. I started my first book! Woah! I have written two before, but they were really terrible. :P This is going to be the first book I will finish with a nice conclusion and more than three chapters. I will also be editing officially for the first time.
  2. I discovered music. I have always grown up listening to a bit of music but never really took it seriously or taken the time to explore artists or different genres. This year, I have found more than 20 artists I really enjoy and admire immensely, especially Lindsey Stirling. she inspired me to start playing the violin, and through her I have discovered my instrument.
     3. I have grown closer to the Lord. Through several experiences he has comforted me and helped me through some difficult times in my personal life. I have known him since I was old enough to speak, but I have never really been serious about it. Now I am praying a lot more, and doing devotions. I hope I will grow even closer to him in 2015 and the other years to come.

Now, here are some resolutions for 2015:
1. Are there any Narnians out there who love it as much as me? I'm going to try to find out.

2. Finish my book. I really want to. I have been working on mine for about a year and I'm still not finished. Ahhhh!!!!

3. Learn to play some songs on my violin. I am learning to play my violin, but I don't know any songs yet.

4. Get a vocal teacher. It's so hard to find one in a area where I live in!!

So that's it. What are your goals for 2015? Memories from 2014?

P. S. For your enjoyment, a wonderful Narnian New Year edit. XD

Getting to Know Your Character(s)

Hi everyone!

So, I am definitely NOT a professional writer, but I wanted to share some tips on getting to know your book character. :) Knowing your character is important as you write your book because you need to know what they would do when put under certain circumstances, what they would say, and stuff like that.

So usually after I start writing the book a little bit I take the time to make a character profile for each of my major characters. In my book I have 6 major characters, not including my villain.

So, I start writing some things down about my character. Such as her age, her personality, her looks. What does she do in her spare time? Does she have family? What's a little bit of her past? Favorite color? What are her pet peeves?

Once you think you are finished, read through it. If you know you are finished, keep that page up on your computer and open up a new page with your WIP. Refer to this introduction page throughout the book and it will really help you in the end.

Another thing I like to do is write a small backstory for them. It's actually really fun! Write it in book form and you can make it as small or as big as you want. What does a regular day look like for your character? Try writing about your MC's childhood a bit. This also really helps you get to know MC even more with writing your book, and it's super fun! :D

So those are two ways I get to know my characters. Yours?

Book Review: Emily of New Moon

Hi everyone!

(WARNING: This post contains possible spoilers, so if you want to read Emily of New Moon but haven't yet and don't want any spoilers don't read this post.)

I finished reading the book Emily of New Moon the other day and I wanted to do a review on it. I'm not very good at book reviews. I'm better at weighing out the pros and cons of books. So that's what I am going to do today.
(AHHH! I can't find a summary online or my copy of the book! If I find it I'll edit this post with the summary)
-I feel it is better "well shaped" as you might say then Anne of Green Gables, (one of L.M. Montgomery's better known heroines). The characters are well-rounded and the plot is good.
-Emily had some experiences that I can relate to. Such as my first book and Emily's poems. I read through it now and wonder how I could have ever thought it any good, just as when Emily read through her poems.
-Ilse (one of Emily's friends) was really funny. She had a big temper and Emily and her would get into fights and then the next day Ilse would treat Emily like it never even happened. At first I thought Ilse was going to be like Anne, but she proved me wrong as the book progressed.
-The book surprised me. The people I thought would be Emily's best friends turned out to be her enemies and vice versa. Things like that.
-It was an all around good book! :D

-It was a little creepy. Which was fine for me, but if you get scared/disturbed easily I wouldn't recommend reading it. (i.e. when she hears "ghosts", when they find a body, etc.)
-I'm having a lot of trouble finding more cons XD

So, yeah, hope you enjoyed! I want to watch the series, I've heard it isn't at all like the book. Do you know if this is true or not?

It looks pretty when it's not lighted but it looks prettier when the candles are lighted:

Can you spot the space where I type my posts?

It was delicious. :3 I also took some birthday selfies but of course I can't share those. :P Bye!

How To: Paint Polka-Dots

Hi everyone!

Today I'm going to be showing you how to paint polka-dots on your nails! It's super easy and fun! Let's get started.

For this project you will need:
  • Marble Dotting tool (I got my kit at Sally's Beauty Shop for about $5.)
  • Clear Nail Polish (you don't need need this, but it helps if you put it as a base coat and top coat to make it more shiny)
  • Two or three different colors of nail polish (you only need a third color if you want different colored polka-dots)
  • Napkin, old magazine, or paper plate

If you are putting on a base coat, do that first with the clear nail polish.

After the base coat has dried, take the color of nail polish you want and paint it like you would if you were just painting nails without dots. Let dry before going on to the next step.

Then, take the color(s) you want the polka-dots to be and put a little pool of it on the napkin/paper plate/magazine.

Dip your marbler into the nail polish,

{Check out the gingerbread house and Santa claus holder...ho ho ho XD}
And press it onto your nail. Do this several times until you have enough polka-dots, then repeat on the rest of your nails.
If you are doing a top coat, make sure you let the dots dry COMPLETELY before you paint it on. If they aren't dry enough, the dots smudge, and it makes it looks weird.

Let dry and your done! Hope you enjoyed the tutorial! :)

I am walking down the dark street. Now that my Grandfather is gone, my life isn't worth it anymore. Nobody loves me, nobody cares for me. I had run away taking nothing with me. One by one, tears trickle down my cheeks. I put my head down and my hands in my pockets, and trudging along I stare at the ground.
Suddenly I hear a car horn honk. I jerk my head up just in time to see a car coming straight towards me! I jump out of the way just in time. "Watch it, lady!" the driver yells at me as he whizzes past.
Then all is quiet.
I choke back a sob as I sit down at the side of the road and put my head in my hands. I hear a noise. I lift my head up to see a girl slip out of the shadows. Her face is pale, her lacy dress is white. She sits beside me and we stare up at the stars for awhile. Then she turns to face me.
"Tell me your troubles." she whispers softly.
And so I tell her it all. I tell it all to a complete stranger. I tell her how I have no home, how nobody cares for me or loves me, and how my grandfather has passed away.
"God cares for you." the girl says softly. "He made you. He loves you so much. He cares."
I turn my head the other way of the girl.
"Tell him your troubles. Pray. He listens." The girl stands up and slips back into the shadows.
I decide to try it. I close my eyes and pray. I tell Him all my troubles. As I do, tears stop slipping down my cheeks. I feel warm inside. A small smile replaces my frown as I finish with a silent "Amen".

You must hate me. XD

Yes, yes, yes, I changed my blog name AGAIN.

And yes I DID take the picture myself. I am definitely not happy with it but it will do until I make a better one. I just chose a picture and slapped some text on there. :P

Through The Wardrobe. It's so beautiful. *sniff* I think this is how it will stay unless I suddenly get an idea for a star trek themed name. Which I hopefully will not.

I edited it myself. I love it. ^_^

You know that LEGO: Friends series for girls? I used to be crazy about it so just for fun I put Susan's battle outfit on Lacie. XD

And yes I made this one also. I love it. My apologies McCoy

Winter Bucket List

Hello everyone!

First of all, I'm thinking of changing my blog name. Again. XD I'm trying to find the perfect name and Peanut Butter Girl is nice but I don't really think it fits if you know what I'm saying. Sorry. XP

Second, I got inspired by Eve at Eve of Womanhood to do a Winter bucket list. It was her idea and I give her full credit. Check out her lovely blog, you will not regret it! :) I just made a rhyme there, hehe.

Okay, so here is my Winter bucket list:

1. Build a Snowman.
I have never successfully made a snowman before - it's just too hard to put the last ball on the top and get the carrot to stay in. XD I want to make one this Winter.

2. Drink AT LEAST 20 mugs of hot cocoa before Winter ends.
I think I might have already finished this one, hehehe.

3. Make sugar cookies.
I want to make some for Christmas. :)

4. Make a gingerbread house.
We bought one of those pre-baked kits so I hope we can get around to that.

5. Take at least 7 winter pictures.
I want to practice my photography away from dolls as well, so this goal will help me get better at that. (I hope.)

6. Clean the whole house.

7. Do a Winter/Christmas SM.
I just started my new Youtube channel, (shinysilverags, SUBSCRIBE PLEASE) and I want to get into uploading more videos and stopmotions, (now that I have a tripod they are so much easier) and I want to make a Winter/Chistmas SM for it. :)

8. Finish my whole first history book my this semester.
I want to get it done - besides I have a whole other big fat book of lessons too. XP

The end!
Thanks everyone for reading, and again this idea was by Eve , and not me. :)
