The Stranded on a Desert Island and the You Are Amazing and So is Your Blog Award!

Hi guys!

{ I started on this post but never finished, sorry GPL! Well, the post is up now. :) }

Wow! That's an insanely long title, I know. XD Anyway, I got nominated for two tags by Guinea Pig Lover over at Lord's Girls! So please go visit her blog, it's amazing. :)

So we'll start off with the "You are Amazing and so is Your Blog" award.

Okay, so we'll start off with the rules:
1. Copy and paste these rules on to your award post.
2. Come up with at least 5 fun questions for your nominees to answer.
3. Nominate at least 5 people who you think are amazing and have an amazing blog.
4. List at least one reason why you appreciate the people you nominated.
5. Put this award on your sidebar or award/tag page if you were nominated.
6. Leave a comment on your nominees' blogs letting them know they've been nominated.
Okay, so here are the questions GPL came up with :):

1. What is your favorite junk food?
Does popcorn count as a junk food? ^_^ If not, sour cream and onion potato chips.
2. Are you a tomboy or girlie-girl?
Uh...kind of 50-50. :P
3. What is your favorite post you have done? Link it here:
I really don't have a favorite post. I guess I like Winter Walk:
4. If you only had 1 hour left to live, where would you live it in?
wherever my family is.
5. Comfort, or uncomfortable fashion?

Here are my questions:
1. Favorite season?
2. Favorite author?
3. Pens or pencils?
4. Hoodies or sweaters?
5. Favorite band?

The nominees:
Eve of Womanhood: I love Eve's blog. Her photography is so pretty, and there is just something so welcoming contained in her posts.

Autumn's Readings and Writings: I love her snippets of writing, the videos she shares and her pictures. I check her blog a lot. :) And she is just the best at designing! (Look around at this blog. She designed it. Awesome, is it not?)

The Silver Flute: Me and Rebecca first met through pen-paling (if that's what you all it :P) after a long time I finally sent another letter to her, and she wrote me back and told me she now had a blog. So I found it and we follow each other. :) I love her writing, (this poem is especially cool) she's so friendly and nice....and, oh, just look at her blog! :)

There are a lot of other ones, but I can't think of anymore right off the bat right now.

Now we'll do the "Stranded on a Desert Island" tag.
In case I ever get stranded on a desert island, it's good to have a plan, so I'm gonna pretend I'm stuck on a desert island and answer these questions, then tag a few people and you answer them, too. ;) Here we go!

1. You have one food item (besides the fish you can catch), so what do you choose?

2. You have one beverage, which do you choose?
Water! Duh! I can always flavor ti with the apples if I want apple juice. ;)

3. What one outfit would you wear?
A lot of layers. I would wear my swimsuit, then shorts and a tank-top under that, and a sweater and jeans and a hat over that. And sneakers.

4. What would you bring if you had one you bring if you had one author with all the books they had ever written?
Okay so I'm going to sneak my Bible on, too, and then I would bring C.S. Lewis's books (because he wrote over 100 books. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA)

5. What one magazine would you bring?
Forever His Princess. (CLICK HERE)

6. You have one freebie item-what is it?
A notebook and pen set. It would be fun to record everything, what I did, etc

7. What would you do for an entire year?
Focus on surviving. Kind of like in Minecraft survival mode. CX My sister wanders around aimlessly and gets killed by zombies, while as soon as I'm there I make a tiny little hut (size doesn't matter) then immediately go find food, explore, store things that could be useful, blablabla.

8. Best thing about solo island living: the beach, do whatever you want, great tan, or a lot of alone time?
The beach. I would fence in an area in the water though, no fish, sharks (they are fish but whatever) or other weird things in the water are going to get close to me! *shudder*

9. Yay! You are finally rescued! who is the person you wan to see?
Actually, personS, my whole family. I would have missed them eminently!

10. What is the first thing you want to do?
Take a LONG bath (salt water is NOT good for bathing).

11. What is the first thing you want to eat?

Okay, so I tag

Beautiful People: March 2015

This is very late, but here we go, finally, with Beautiful People March Edition!

I'm going to be doing Ella, from my story Cinders. (You can find it on the "stories" page of my blog.) It's a modern adaptation of Cinderella.
Here we go! :)

1. What is their secret desire?
To belong to someone. Not necessarily a boy...maybe, an older sister or a mother.

2. What is the brightest moment they experience during the story?
Either when she meets Vida, who helps her get to the dance, or when she finds the dress her parents picked out just for her.

3. What are the emotional places your characters are afraid to go to?
Umm...hmmm....*cough cough* XD

4. Is there a place/city/room they will never go? Why?
Her sisters' bedrooms. Because they won't let her in. :P

5. If they were permanently leaving town, what would they easily throw out? What would they refuse to part with? (Why?)
She would throw out all the crumby stuff her stepmother bought her after her father died to try to change her and maybe help her fit in a little bit better. Her stepmother isn't all bad, so Ella hasn't wanted to hurt her feelings by chucking them yet.
She would probably refuse to part with her stuffed animals. She LOVES stuffed animals. ;)

6. What do they want? (Consciously and tangibly)?
Perhaps to have a best friend. Someone to share all her secrets with. Someone who will hug her and comfort her through trials. And to do the same to someone else.

7. On the other hand, what do they need (on the emotional, subconscious level)?
She needs something to write in. If she can't confide her feelings to anyone, she needs to get them out somehow. She has had her diary since she was 10, and it's about bursting.

8. If they could change one thing about themselves, what would it be?
She often wishes that she wasn't as shy. That she was more outgoing like her stepsisters so that she could actually make some friends.

9. What is the most humiliating event of their life?
When she fell off the stage at the school play. That was when she was 5, but she still remembers it vividly. XP

10. What things to they turn to when they need a bit of hope?
She turns to God. I do not mention this in the story, but her mother and father were both Christian and she is a very strong Christian. She depends on God, and knows that everything will work out as he planned. She that gives her a lot of comfort.

There we are! All done! XD Hope you enjoyed.

Morning Routine

Hi everyone!

In my house I'm known as Lydia, "aka the vacuming queen". Seriously. No joke. I love cleaning, organizing, and making schedules! Some of my favorite blogs to read are organizing, cleaning and homeschooling blogs. I read Molly Green ALL. THE. TIME. So I absolutely love making posts like these!

I thought I would do a "routine" post. Sooo...morning routine!!!

9:30 (Don't judge) - I get up (duuuhhhh) and then before my feet even hit the floor (I have a bunk bed and I sleep on the top bunk) I make my bed, wake up Jo, get dressed, do my hair, put on my makeup, have breakfast.

10:00 - I start my homeschool. Jo usually does her online math first so I go and do my history, science, and piano. Then while I'm waiting for Jo to finish her math I do a crossword puzzle...

10:30 - Still waiting....

11:00 - By then she's done so I do my online math.

11:30 - My mom starts on lunch, and I'm usually done with math so I have to read Jo's history book to her. My mouth gets all dry. I hate reading out loud.

12:00 - LUNCH!! Then me, Jo and my mom all do written math. Hooray! DONE WITH SCHOOL!

And that's basically my morning routine! :) Hope you enjoyed, sorry for the picture-less post. :P

Edits, Tenth Avenue North, and Other Random Stuff

Honestly, I don't know why I did these, I was just bored. >.<

Okay, so ever since we went to the concert I've been obsessed with Tenth Avenue North. It's actually a really good band. I got a Tenth Avenue North poster at their booth on the way out. :) (I'll tell you all about the concert tomorrow.) My three favorite songs by them are

No Man is an Island
Stars in the Night

In the awesomest male singer contest, it's now tied between Adam and Mike. (Sorry, Adam.) That's Mike up there.
Weeell, my shoulder hurts and it's almost 10:00 at night. I'd better hurry or I won't be able to watch a Star Trek episode before bed. Bye guys!

I have been having fun taking pictures of the animals that come up to our deck to get birdseed. Here are a couple. :) (I took both of them.)
Today we are going to a Chris Tomlin concert today! I'm SO. EXCITED!!!!!! :D I don't think you can bring cameras in, though. :(

Writing Prompt Contest

Hey everyone!

Today I'm going to be entering the Writing Prompt Contest over at A Southern Girls Life. Here is my writing prompt/picture I'm going to be using:

Mkay so here we go:

I turned the knob and stepped inside. I closed the door, and it let out a loud cre-e-e-e-k! I heard footsteps. For a split second I thought I would be discovered - but then I realized that it was just the old structure of the building. I tiptoed to the spot in the floorboards - and there it was. Safe. I pulled on the book - it was wedged in tight. I pulled harder. It came loose, and I flew to the ground. The book had a scratch or two, but ti was alright for the most part.

I opened it's dusty pages and flipped through them. Finally, I found the spot.

The words "You know what to do." were written. And there was the key. I let in a deep breath. What I was about to do could change my life for the better - or for the worse.

I stood up and headed back to the door. I opened it and closed it, almost soundlessly. Then I walked down the hallway, stairs, and through my exit that led onto the streets of the city. The back alleyway was dark, but I knew my way around well enough. Back against the wall, I started to make my way to the place I was supposed to use they key.

When suddenly, a hand was clapped over my mouth. I let out a scream, muffled by the hand. "Levana - it's just me." a voice whispered, and the hand was taken off my mouth.

I let out a sigh of relief. "You scared me there for a moment, Thomas." I said.

"You can't do it." he told me.

"Why not? I have the key. I have everything I need. I am capable of getting the money myself!" I tried to push past Thomas, put he blocked my way.

"No. Jane tricked you! She wants you to get caught. I heard her say so." Thomas told me.

I gasped. "You are sure you're not lying?" I asked.

Thomas nodded. "Positive. You can't do this. It's wrong, anyway."

I swallowed. "I know. But my family needs the money! We don't have anything left. I don't want us to be homeless."

Thomas smiled his small smile. "Go home, and I think you'll find out what you need to know."

I bit my lip. "Alright." I finally decided, and ran off.

Turns out, my dad had just gotten a job that payed a fair amount of money. We were never rich, but me and my family lived the rest of our lives happily.

Lucy Doesn't Wear Pink - A Book Review

Today I'll be reviewing the first book in the Lucy series, Lucy Doesn't Wear Pink.

Name: Lucy Doesn't Wear Pink by Nancy Rue

Description: Meet Lucy Rooney, a motherless tomboy with an inquisitive mind, a strong will, and a straight-forward approach, who knows every inch of the small and dusty New Mexico town in which she lives with her blind father. She is constantly searching for the “why” in everything. Sometimes it helps answer her questions, and sometimes it just gets her into trouble.

Hated, Liked, or Loved?: Loved

How long of a read?: It took me half a day, but I'm a very fast reader.

My Age Recommendation: Girls 10+

Thoughts: This book was really good! It's about a girl who lost her mother and has a blind father. She lives in a small town in New Mexico. She is a total tomboy and she loves soccer.
Why I would recommend this book for girls 10+ instead of 8+ is because first the reading level and second it hints at child abuse.
It happened to one of Lucy's friends. His father kept hitting him and yelling - it got really bad. So Lucy's friends had to come over to their house if his dad started yelling, and Lucy's dad had to call the sheriff and her friend's dad got put in jail for his temper and child abuse. :(

Overall, this was a very good book and I would give it four and a half stars out of five!

The Snow is Melting: Photoshoot + Video

The lighting was beautiful today, so I forced Jo from her fashion show on Fantage to outside. She wasn't the most cooperative model (she kept wanting to make snowballs) but I did get some good pictures.

I also got a video. Just little clips I put together. Enjoy!

Some people are scared of what will happen in the next year. The next week. The next day. The next minute. The next second.
But why?
They don't have anyone to put faith in. To lean on.
To trust.
That friend that she's known since forever has turned away.
That boy who "loved" her is out of her life.
Now what?
She has no one to turn to for comfort.
She feels like she's all alone.
There's a problem with all of this.
She's not.

Sometimes we all need a kind of comfort nobody we know can give us. We need someone to put our trust in so we won't be scared of what will happen tomorrow. We need to put our faith in God.
Maybe His plan isn't the most pleasant thing in the world and it's not all happiness and rainbows and glitter. But he is using these things. And it will turn out right in the end.

Exactly as he planned.

So just put your faith in God. He loves you. He's waiting with open arms

Okay, so maybe not weekly, but frequently. ;)

Yesterday there was an absolutely amazing sunset. The pictures don't do it justice. The colors were much more vibrant. It was beautiful.

Jo took the opportunity to go play in the snow. ;)

THIS is how much wood we have in our living room now. A lot, no?

15 Boredom Busters

Are you ever super duper bored out of your mind and there's nothing new on the computer and the house is strangely quiet and it seems like no one is even breathing?! Refer to this here post, where I shall list 15 things I do when I'm bored.

1. Remember when you used to talk to your BFF on the phone instead of sitting in a seat and staring at a screen and typing words? Try calling somebody on the phone and actually talking to them.
2. Turn on some Imagine Dragons and dance like nobody's watching!!!
3. Write a letter. To the president or to the kid down the street. You'll improve your handwriting while you're at it.
4. Take some pictures. No, not selfies. Nature pictures or animal pictures or whateveryoufeelliketakingpicturesof pictures.
5. Start a diary! Divulge all your hopes, dreams, greatest secrets, and what you had for dinner last night.
6. School! It may not be super fun, but start doing that homework or homeschool and get it over with.
7. Re-arrange your room. And hang up some Through The Wardrobe fan posters while you are at it.
8. Write a book!
9. Draw. I know, your horse looks like a cactus, but practice makes progress!
10. Sew. Start with a scarf. It's the easiest.
11. Play with your siblings! They seem like nice people.
12. Play outside. We all need some fresh air.
K, don't be a grump.

13. Play a board game. Like Clue!
14. Bake some cookies. Even if you add too much water you could make a new family recipe.
15. I can't think of anything else so think for some for yourself for a change!
