Mary Poppins Characters

Hey guys!

As most of you know, I got the Mary Poppins books for my birthday. So I thought I would compare the book characters to the characters in the movie.
In the books, Mary is vain, dignified, a bit grumpy (almost all the time), and snappy.
This picture would describe how she would look all the time.
The picture to the right actually would describe her even better.

In the movie, Mary is all like that. All the time.

Bert only appeared for a short time in the first book. I love him in the movie. (Because Dick van Dyke is awesome).

Jane and Micheal are basically the same. Cute. Naughty. XD

If Bert did that in the book Mary would be like,
*SCOWL* Bert stop that foolish, childish nonsense this instant! Such behavior. *sniff* And then she would walk haughtily away and Bert would never see her again. XD
Mrs. Banks and Mr. Banks are basically the same, as well. Mary doesn't help Mr. Banks be less serious (sheese if she did you guys would not even believe what I just said about her), but Mr. Banks is serious and Mrs. Banks is...well...funny. :P

Admiral Boom. Is hilariously hilarious in every way. He has the ship house and the mast in his front yard. He has the cannon and he tells the time and the weather. So he's the same, too.

I think the character they changed the most int he movie is Mary herself.

The books have a mysterious, creepy air to them and the movie is full of happiness and cupcakes and sprinkles and unicorns. XD

I think I actually like the books better.

Birthday Haul 2015

Hey guys!

My birthday was April 21st, I'm now 11 years old. :) Today I'm going to be showing you what I got. So let's get started!

Overview. :D

I went to Bath & Body Works and got the French Lavender & Honey scent of spray and hand lotion.

My ADORABLE Build-A-Bear. (I love stuffed animals and I'm not ashamed.) ;) I named her Spice.

Sneakers from Payless...

Sandals from justice...

Then I got this copy of Little Women. I have an abridged version but I've never read the full one, and the cover is BEAUTIFUL so I just had to buy it.

Mary Poppins, all four books in one. I love the movie but I have never read the books (actually I'm in the middle of the first one and it is good so far).
A Snicker of Magic. I finished this book and I love it to pieces! I totally recommend it!!

I also got some hair stuff,

And TONS of clothes from Justice. :)

So that's what I got for my birthday. Thanks for reading everyone!

5 of the Best-Dressed Movie Characters

Well, duh. Her blue gown is simply gorgeous. The tulle at the top is beautiful, it sparkles, the blue is beautiful on Lily James  Ella.

I don't know why, but Susan's purple dress has always been my favorite of her wardrobe. I would absolutely LOVE to wear a dress like that. It's beautiful!

Okay, so maybe some of her dresses are not very appealing. *coughcoughleavingabbeydresscoughcough* But Maria's gazebo dress is SO. PRETTY! And flowy!

Scarlet O'Hara
I've actually never seen/read Gone with the Wind, but I've spent many an hour drooling over her dresses. This one is a favorite of mine.

Well, uh, this white flowy dress gown thing is pretty awesome, is it not?!
Well, yeah. That's it. Thanks for reading! :) I'll have another post up tomorrow.

Cinderella 2015

Ever since I saw the trailer in November I have been dying to see this movie. I finally got out to the theater to see it.
It was beyond any of my expectations.
It was gorgeous! It made the story seem fresh and new - more backstory, more action, more detail.

The special effects were amazing! Especially when she was running from the palace in the carriage. Disney really outdid themselves at that part.

I loved everything about this movie, except nearly all the dresses were a bit immodest. But they were simply beautiful.

My favorite dress - Ella's blue gown. EEEKK! I really want that gown. It swirls so, and the tulle is so beautiful, and I love love love the butterflies at the top.

Ella's mother's dress here is so pretty! I like the yellow, it looks good on her.

Ella's wedding gown. It. Is. GORGEOUS! The flower pattern. <3

ANYWHO, had to find a place to share my adoration for this movie. Can't wait till it comes out on DVD.
Oh and yes I saw Frozen Fever. It was good. Could have been better.

Books and Reading: A Book Challenge

Noor came up with this, and I thought it would be fun to do. :D So here we go!

Must answer all questions
Repost the picture with a link to Noor's blog
You MAY tag people if you would like, but it isn't required
Have fun!
Okay, so here we go:

1. April TBR? (To Be Read)
Probably The Tender Years by Janette Oke.
Hallmark has a series based on a series of hers and I want to try to read some of her work! This one sounds so entrancing and wonderful and the cover is to die for. :O

2. Book (series) you would love to see as a movie?
TRIXIE BELDEN! Trixie Belden MOVIES! Just think of it!!

3. Overhyped book/author?
Honestly, I'm not sure. I don't read that many "bestsellers" like The Maze Runner or The Hunger Games. I'm not going to read those - even when I get older. They just aren't things I want to read...and my parents don't want me to either. Anyway, getting off topic.
I've only read one book ever I didn't like, and that is SO not a popular one.
But...maybe I'll say Frozen: A Junior Novelization? Because Frozen is soooo overrated. ;)

4. The best book series you will ever read?
Do we really need to talk about this? *looks at blog title* *looks at Narnia book beside her* *looks at the Narnia picture as her desktop background* *looks at Silver Chair movie rumors on a different tab*

5. Book to movie adaptation that was really bad?
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I know, I know, I can't believe I'm saying it, but really. EVIL GREEN MIST?! A GIANT SEA MONSTER WITH CENTIPEDE LEGS?! lkdjghbc;jkvhbdsgk NO.

6. Book that just made you cry.
Uhhhh....*peep peep peep* Well, Lydia-Lou made me cry but then again I was 6 and the DOLL that the MC had to give up was named Lydia. >.<

7. Book you're reading right now? Give it a quick rating.
Well I'm not currently reading any books, but I soon as I hunt down that copy of The Horse and His Boy I KNOW is somewhere on my numerous bookshelves, I shall tackle that one. It is my favorite Narnia book - so of course I give it a five-star rating. ;) (I've read it before.)

8. A book series you just didn't like?
There's not a SERIES, but there is one book I REALLY didn't like. In Search of Honor by Donnalyn Hess.
It's really more of a boys' book. It's not my thing. It was bloody. It was confusing. It had RATS! Ewww! The long tower infested by bugs?! Bleccha. And IT WAS SAD! The guy that converted the MC to Christianity (well at least I think he did, haven't read the book in awhile) died soon after. And then the book ends. WHAT?!
So, yeah, I really didn't like that book. >.<

9. Book that you haven't read yet, but really need to?
Mrs. M (Susan K Marlow) is so good at writing and she did not cease to amaze me with the first book of her non-Circle C book series, Goldtown Adventures. I really need to read the second one. :D

10. Come up with your own question!! (Favorite MC in any book you've ever read?)
Jesus. ;)

I'm not going to tag anyone - if you want to do it, feel free!

Must-Haves for a Movie Marathon

Sometimes, you want to watch all the Narnia movies just because. Other times, you want to see all the made episodes of MLP:FIM because the new episode is coming out TOMORROW and you want a refresher!

Whatever you want to to watch, here is a list of essential items you'll need to gather before going on your movie/show marathon. :P

1. Tissues

2. Snacks
LOTS of them. Especially if you are going on a REALLY long one. Like a whole Star Trek series marathon. Like, 45 STRAIGHT HOURS OF NOTHING BUT MCCOY!!
Then you REALLY need a LOT of snacks. O.o Popcorn, ice-cream, granola bars, spaghetti, fish, whatever. :3

3. A Blanket
You need to have something to hide under in your misery when you remember how horrible the killing-of-Aslan part in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe was. ;(

4. Laptop
Please watch your show on the TV and keep us updated on your marathon on Twitter.

5. Ice-Pack
This is very random, I know, but just have one handy please. From personal experience, you will be glad you had one. >.< (Don't ask.)

So that's it. :P Hope you enjoyed. BYE!

The Liebster Award

I have been nominated by the lovely Emily at The Imaginary World of Emily McConnell.  Thanks, Emily!
1. Link back to the blogger that nominated you
2. Answer the 11 new questions
3. Nominate other bloggers (however many or few as you'd like)
4. Notify the new nominees of their award

1. You have one day to live. What are you going to do that day?
Spend as much time with my family as possible.
2. You discover that you accidentally brought all  of your book characters from a book you've written/all the characters from a favorite book you've read, to life. Is that a good or bad thing?
It's good. I mean, there's ONE bad guy in my book. And he doesn't have any powers or anything. So I could lock him up and party with Felicity, Wills, Piper, Zara, Kaitlyn, and Penelope. XD

As for my favorite book I've read (The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe), RUN FOR COVER AHHHH!!!!!!!!!! MONSTERS! WHITE WITCH! EVIL DWARVES!
Oh wait, I forgot about Aslan. I guess it's also a good thing. ;)
3. Cherries or peaches?
Peaches. I'm not a big fan of cherries.
4. If Jesus came back tonight, would you be ready for Him?
Yes. you know, it could be tomorrow or it could be a very long time 'till then, but whenever he comes I'll be ready and waiting. :)
5. What is your favorite Christian non-fiction book (besides the Bible)?
I really don't read that many non-fiction books.
6. Biographies or instruction books?
Instruction books.
7. If given the chance, who is the one Bible character (besides Jesus) you'd want to meet?
Paul. Most definitely.
8. You're walking down the road and see a child being bullied. What do you do?
I would want to run over and tell the bully to lay off.
I hate to admit it, but in reality I would probably chicken out and walk away...
9. If given the chance, who is the one fictional character (your books or books you've read) that you'd want to meet?
EDMUND! I would ask him so many questions about Narnia and Aslan and the rest of the Pevensies and what it's like to be a King and do you know where the nearest portal is and can just anyone get into Narnia?!
10. You've been asked to perform a song/instrument at a huge arena with four thousand people attending. Would you go or would you hide?
I would go and sing. If Mike can do it, I can do it. ;)
11. Without warning, you're thrown back in time to a different era, where Christians are being persecuted. Would you try to find a way back home, help them first and then try to find a way home, or accept your fate and decide to live among them and help them?
Number two.

Okay, the nominees.
Samantha from Snow White
Noor from A Little Bit of Sunshine

1. Favorite desert?
2. If you could live with any book character during and after the series/book, who would you choose and why?
3. Most special stuffed animal?
4. Do you like dolls?
5. What trait do you have that you would love to improve?
6. Cursive or print?
7. Classical or rock?
8. If you could have any book character's clothing collectin, who's would you choose and why? (Based upon the movies after the book, the illustrations, or just how you imagine what they'd wear.)
9. Do you like butter?
10. Favorite breakfast food?
11. Would you believe me if I told you cookies grew on trees and then they were imported to an underwater bubble before being shipped to the super-market?

Thanks for reading!

Staring at
An empty space
That was once inhabited
By a different race.

Queen Jadis sitting
On her throne
Summoned by
The ringing bell's tone.

Red sun
One star
That's all there is
In the sky by far.

Hungry for nothing but
Power and fame
Wiped out her subjects
With no shame.

The time has come
For Charn to go
That world is ending
As all worlds do.

I am no poet, but this was so much fun to write. I am re-reading The Magician's Nephew, and while reading it a rhyme popped into my head, and I decided to make a poem of it. :P

Happy Easter 2015

Hello, everyone!

Happy Easter! Although me and my family love to make bunny cakes, a huge Easter dinner, and give each other Easter baskets, it's really important to remember the true meaning of Easter - that Christ died for us so that we could have eternal life with him. :)

"For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then we were all dead:

"And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again."

2 Corinthians 5:14-15 KJV

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3:16 KJV

Have a great rest of your day!!

What to Do when you simply aren't inspired

Hey guys!

(I think I did a post like this before but this one has more ideas. ;) )

So sometimes when I'm working on Felicity's Sword (new readers, ICYDK, it's my novel) I feel totally un-inspired and I'm kind of like

So here are some tips for re-inspiring yourself. ;)

1. Start/work on a side-book. I have one, (a fanfiction. Star Trek). I'm totally not-serious about it, and it's just for fun. Sometimes you just need to take a break from one project and work on another for a little while, then when you come back to your main novel you'll be ready to write!

2. Leave the computer (Most of us don't write with a notebook, right? If you write with a notebook leave the notebook) and do something else. Take a walk, bake some cookies, take some pictures.

3. BRAINSTORM NEW IDEAS! Leave the computer, grab some paper and think! Doesn't matter how WACKO the ideas are. Like for example your MC could turn into an onion...okay so maybe not that but you know what I mean.

4. Listen to music. I got inspired for Felicity's Sword by listening to music (and looking at Pinterest) :). Actually, I now can't write without it.

5. LAST RESORT, if all else fails, PINTEREST!!! Pinterest is THE best place for inspiration.

Hope these helped!
