my hobbies

Hey guys!

I thought I would do a post about what hobbies I have and have taken up.

*not my photo (I just slapped some text on there)*

1. Book Collecting
I have already started collecting old books of that sort. It is a lot of fun, though most books I want to try and collect are so expensive on Ebay/Amazon. :P

2. Sewing
I'm still learning. I have made a doll skirt, and a doll quilt.

3. Doll Collecting
Most of you know this already, but I absolutely adore American Girl Dolls. I actually have a blog about them, ICYDK. You can check it out HERE.  I've looked into the history of AG/Pleasant Company and all that to find out more about the actual dolls themselves, their books, and their outfits. It's been really fun! I'm probably going to set up a display sometime soon of all of them.

4. Reading

5. TV-Watching
Is that a hobby? Even if it's not, I'll post about it anyway. Over the past year I have become a huge old-TV show-junkie. I love Lost in Space, Little House on the Prarie, The Donna Reed Show, Leave it to Beaver, The Brady Bunch, Lavern and Shirley, all that jazz.

In fact, I'm going to go watch Lost in Space right now.

Live long and prosper, peeps!

taylor swift - 1989

Hey guys!

I finally got 1989 recently, and I decided to do like a little review of it. So here we go.

Here's what it looks like when you first see it.

And the back.

It's a little case, so the album slides out.

The inside. (The CD isn't there since it's in my computer but it has the same pattern as the background.)

Front of the pamphlet.

Inside there are the lyrics to the songs and pictures to go with them.

There are also some cute "polaroid" photos of Taylor with lyrics on the bottom.

This is what the back of them looks like.

Songs: (Blank spaces [*chuckles* *crickets chirp*] xD means I really have no thoughts on it)
1. Welcome to New York - One of my favorite songs in this album. Completely clean.
2. Blank Space - Incredibly catchy. If any songs in 1989 will get stuck in your head, it's this one. The Lord's name is taken in vain a couple of times.
3. Style - I like this one, especially the chorus. It's really upbeat.
4. Out of the Woods -
5. All You Had To Do Was Stay -
6. Shake It Off - The hit. :O xD The Lord's name is taken in vain and Taylor says a minor bad word.
7. I Wish You Would -
8. Bad Blood -  I don't really like this song. xD I like the tune, just not the lyrics.
9. Wildest Dreams - There is a minor bad word.
10. How You Get The Girl -
11. This Love -
12. I Know Places -
13. Clean -

So yeah. That's my review. Thanks for reading everyone!

tour of my reading corner

I transformed a little "peninsula" that juts out from the hallway above the staircase in our house to a place where I like to hang out. :)

Here is my chair, and Cuddles sits on top of it. I swap her out for different stuffed animals sometimes. :3

This wall is actually cardboard covered in contact paper. The walls around the "peninsula" are actually sort of like a fence, so I put up this thing so nothing would fall out.

Here, between my "table" and my chair I keep my devotional and Adventures in Odessy: The Official Guide. ;)

My little collage, with a Tenth Avenue North poster and my favorite pictures I got with Taylor Swift's newest album 1989.

On the section of the table closest to the chair, I keep the book(s) I am reading or want to read. Currently it's Wildwood by Colin Meloy.

Behind the book is where I keep my magazines and sketching pad.

My display of Trixie Belden books. From left to right; Oval, Random House, Ugly.
I like to swap out the displays every now and then. Earlier it was Mary Poppins and Little Women. (They have my favorite cover designs out of all my books.)

Between the "fence" and the table are two very thick books of mine and, though you can't see it, there is a little crate sort of thing that holds bookmarks, markers, pens, etc.

In this corner my spare camera and a lantern, in case I wake up earlier than the rest of the family and don't want to wake them up by turning on the hall light.

So, yeah! That's my little corner. :)

Thanks for reading!

My favorite books that I read:

  • All the Trixie Belden books
  • Calico Captive
  • A Snicker of Magic
  • Narnia

You might have noticed my new TBR list on my sidebar. That thing is going to explode pretty soon. I've got tons of other books I need to put on there.

And by the way, I started a blog to review books I've read and movies I've watched. You can check it out HERE.

Sorry for such a short post. I have two fun new ones I'm planning as soon as I take the pictures!

The Screenshot Game

Hey guys!

I thought it would be fun to post a game. It's very simple - guess in the comments which screenshot is from which movie.

One thing - I won't be publishing your comment until I release the answers, so don't worry if it doesn't show up right away.

Each correct answer is worth 10 points.

Have fun! I'll post the answers in a week or so. :)

Pink Dresses - Photoshoot

When you feel it
Once you see it
And you breath it
It's unforgettable

To the soulful
Keep on charging ahead

Sometimes the best photos are candid shots. I did this from across the lake, without Jo's knowledge and they are one of the sets of pictures I am most proud of.
{These were taken last year. I forgot I had them.}
The lyrics in some of the photos are from for King & Country's To The Dreamers. Because that is my new Song of the Week...(check out my Google+ xD)
